About us

Homeownership is for everyone. Most of the gatekeeping is fake.

My Homeownership Coach exists because the people who most need a friendly guide to buying a home — first-time buyers, renters, anyone told "not yet" — are exactly the people who don't have a guide.

Why we built this

Most "first-time buyer" resources aren't for first-time buyers.

They're for people who already know what an LTV is. Who already know how to read a closing disclosure. Who already have a parent in real estate to call.

The rest of us get a 40-page PDF from a bank, a sales call from a "loan officer," and a vague feeling that we're somehow already behind.

We didn't think that was right. So we built the platform we wished existed when we were first-time buyers ourselves.

What we believe

Three things that shape everything we build.

No one is "not ready."

Some people need more time. Some people need a different loan. Some people need a different city. Everyone has a path — even if it's a two-year path.

Plain language, always.

If a coach uses an acronym without explaining it, that's a coach failing at their job — not a learner failing. We rewrite every term until our test readers say "oh, OK."

No conflicts of interest.

We don't take commissions when you get a mortgage. We don't lock you to one lender. Your trust is the asset.

Setting expectations

What we are. What we're not.

What we are

  • A free education and roadmap platform.
  • A team of licensed coaches who answer your questions.
  • A curated, vetted network of agents and lenders.
  • A friendly second opinion on your situation.

What we're not

  • A lender. We don't write mortgages.
  • A real estate brokerage. We don't sell homes.
  • A lead-gen farm. We don't sell your email.
  • A robo-advisor. Every coach is a real, licensed human.
Wherever you are

We'd love to be your homeownership coach.
